I so enjoyed last year's Clean & Simple On line Class, that I had to sign up again this year! Yesterday was the first day and with it came some great ideas and layouts. For "homework", it was suggested to work with one of the layouts.
This is the card that I came up with:
I only used 3 stamps from 3 different companies; the car from Hero Arts, the great background stamp from StacyStamps and the saying from Impression Obsession. I added a few pearls with the Viva Decor Pearl Pen and that was it. Pretty simple! This makes a really quick masculine birthday card.
This layout is nice, simple and quick. Try it out! See what you come up with and post it on our Facebook page. We'd love to see your art!
See you soon,
~Anna

Double Matting by using Oval Dies
Good Morning Everyone! Actually a very cold morning; but it's January and there is nothing we can do so let's craft!
I've seen many cards on Pinterest that show double matting recently. I therefore tried it with two oval dies from Spellbinders and here is what I came up with:
Of course I had to add a flower (Cheery Lynn rose die) and a butterfly (Nelle Snellen punch with embosser) adorned with stickles. Spring just has to be here soon, right?
Keep on stamping and crafting,
~Anna

A Pretty Valentine Card
There are so many Valentine cards on Pinterest right now; a good reminder that Valentine's Day will be here soon and that Pinterest is a great source for inspiration. I've noticed that most cards are red, white and some black with many similar layouts.
Here is my addition to the holiday. It is pretty simple, but the more I look at it, the more I like it.
I used Nellie Snellen multi frame dies. These dies are so pretty and delicate. Let me know if you would like to add them to your collection. And you will get them in plenty of time to create your 'Love" cards!
Also, don't let your new year's resolution go by the wayside; join us Saturday for a fun time of stamping and crafting. We'll make Valentine cards as well as the fall card you can see HERE. Call to reserve your seat today.
Looking forward to seeing you soon,
~Anna

Another Acetate Card
I completed another acetate card, this time with an idea from Ginny. When she came by last week to do the Make and Take, she decided to stamp the acetate in black. Of course, we then had to change the backing paper to a lighter color so that the stamped image would stand out. Here is my new card with the acetate stamped with black Staz on.
I used the same gorgeous flourish from Impression Obsession and layered it onto cream card stock that was stamped with the Hero Arts newspaper background stamp. The rest was basically the same as the Make & Take card, which you can see HERE.
Have a wonderful day and see you soon,

Two Little Love Birds
Valentine's Day will be here before we know it and so I have been working on some designs. Here is my sweet card of two little love birds in front of their little home.
I used the Impression Obsession house die and their fence die; I stamped the house with I/O's distress background stamp. I also stamped the two chickadees in brown and embossed them in clear. I used the Spellbinders circle nestabilities for the window, Nellie Snellen multi frame die for the scalloped "lacey" edge and a Marianne Creatables die for the leafy flourish. I added a few punched flowers for the finishing touch.
Now that CHA has started, Impression Obsession released it's new catalog and you can see it HERE! There are some wonderful ideas and new goodies waiting for you! Let me know if you need anything and I'll get them to you in no time.
Hope this starts you thinking about your Valentine's Day project. Don't forget, these cards can also be used for an anniversary, wedding and even a birthday. Therefore, get your creative juices flowing and get into some fun in making some great cards!

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Everyone!
I can't believe that it is 2013.......all I can say is wow! I remember when my dad told me when the world will celebrate the year 2000, there will be a huge party. I asked why and he explained that it will no longer be 1900's. As a kid, I just shrugged. So, he suggested, "Why don't you figure out how old you will be in 2000". And so I figured it out and nearly had a heart attack when I realized that I would be 45!!! And now, here we are in 2013...........boy oh boy, how quickly time flies!
Which brings me to the fact that tomorrow is the first Saturday of the month. And we know what that means; it's Make and Take Day! I created a great little card for tomorrow using acetate, some Hero Arts printed paper and some punches! Last month Shari Carroll created a great card and a video and I used her ideas to come up with this little gem!
I used an Impression Obsession flourish stamp and white Stazon ink to stamp the acetate. I layered it onto the wonderful Hero Arts paper (from the Little Black Dress paper pad) and used punches to decorate the card with butterflies and flowers. The finishing touches was with the Black Pearl Pen by Viva Decor and some stickles.
Here is a close up. It was difficult to photograph this, since the flash would reflect on the acetate. (And I don't have a place outdoors to photograph since there is still so much snow out there!) I have to say that the card looks so much better in real life.
I am also excited to let you know that the new Hero Arts catalog is out and you can see it first hand at the Creative Corner! Stop by and check it out and order some of their new goodies!!! It will truly inspire you and get your creative mojo going!!!
Therefore, start off the new year with some fun and creativity and join us for this fabulous Make and Take!
Looking forward to seeing you!
