Barbara and Tim Holtz

Barbara took the Tim Holtz classes and decorated 4 different canvases. This is just one of the canvases she made and they are great for home decor!  She used lots of different techniques and is planning to share them with you in upcoming classes.

Don't forget, you can always just take elements from these samples and create a card or decorate a box top!  The possibilities are endless!

Beautifully Textured Flower

Soni made this beautiful card in the Outlines class.  She textured the flower with a new cream from Viva Decor, which comes in several colors.  She also used the new Pearl Pens to add "pearls" to the center of the flower.  (The Pearl Pens come in lots of yummy colors.)

These new items should be in shortly.  I am planning to use them in the Special Wedding Class, which will be held on Saturday, April 30.

Stay tuned for more pictures from our Boston trip.
Thanks,
Anna

Glitter, glitter and more glitter!

Barbara, Soni and I are back from Boston, where we attended the Collins Group Trade Show. We had a great time taking LOTS of classes, learning new techniques, seeing lots of new product, making plenty of samples and meeting such talented people in our industry.

One of the things that WOWED everyone was this new, micro fine glitter. It was the hit of the show.
And here is Els van de Burgt, owner of Elizabeth Craft Designs with a sample board of the beautiful cards she made with this fabulous glitter.

I took her class and made the following two cards. Unfortunately, the pictures do not do the cards justice. The technique is quite simple and you end up with a gorgeous card that sparkles to the hilt yet feels so smooth to the touch! And so the name of the technique - the burnished velvet technique. You end up with a truly elegant card.

Stop by the shop and see these cards in person - you will not be disappointed.

I can't wait for the glitter to arrive so we can have some classes in making these stunning cards!

Thanks for stopping by,
Anna

New Stamps from Outlines!

These are the latest stamps from Outlines and they are now available at the Creative Corner! (These stamps are so new, that they are not even on the Outlines website yet!) You see them here first!

Aren't these stamps just perfect for spring? You can use any medium to color the wonderful scenes, or maybe just stamp the design in a color and use it as a background with an element popped on it.

I'm playing with my Copics and hopefully will be able to post my creation in a day or two. Colored pencils would also work very well.

I'm sure you will come up with lots of innovative ideas using these great new stamps and I can't wait to see your creations!

Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by,
Anna

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all! And what a gorgeous day it was! Spring is truly in the air!

This was a quick and simple card, made with a Hero Arts stamp that many of you recognize. We used it in a Copics class last year, the Floral Scallop, but this time I colored it all green and therefore they look like shamrocks! I also used my Copics to color the ribbon so that it would match perfectly; added some crystal stickles for pop and I was all done! Gotta love those simple cards!

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by,
Anna

Off and Running!

First, I want to thank everyone for coming out this past Saturday for the Re-Opening of the Creative Corner. You helped make it a huge success! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Thank you to all who brought cake and goodies.......we were munching all day!

Your wonderful comments and input will also be put to good use. I can now add more items to my goals, set priorities and plan for the future. TOGETHER we can make the Creative Corner the best it can be!

And now for the pictures.............in the above photo, Barbara is getting ready for her demo on stamping on fabric and making those great flowers! Thanks Barbara, you did a wonderful job!

Here, Ruth, Carole M, and Pat were checking out the new card samples and the new catalogs. Then they were ready to do the Make and Take.

Here, Barbara was explaining the details of her demo.

And here are Carol C., and Sue with Barbara.

Sorry that more pictures weren't taken.......it got so busy and hectic, that the camera was put down and not  picked up again.

Thank you again for your wonderful support,
Anna

Bicycle Make & Take on the 12th!

Bicycles are the rage right now and so here's the neat, quick Make & Take you can create on the 12th! You'll use the Hero Arts Bicycle stamp set and the envelope pattern background, A Muse saying, distress inks, a red marker and a few crystals. It's a great unisex card!

See you soon,
Anna

Progress!

Yesterday was a busy day and we got A LOT done! Thanks to Ron M. and Bob H., the lower cabinets are in and the upper cabinets are all hung. The classroom area is going to have lots of storage and counter top space. I'm planning to put the large cutter and the large Scor-it there.........no more bending over and hurting our backs ladies; it'll be the perfect height to cut and score cardstock! Thank you so much guys!!! You did a fabulous job!!!

Anna M. also helped me soooo much!!! We cleaned out more stuff out of the garage, went with both our cars to the recycling place and then even primed the wall that was spackled!!!

Boy were we tired, but it was a productive day! Thanks again Anna, you're the best!

Today, Barbara will stop by and we'll start putting things where they belong! Yipee!!!

OK, I think I'm beginning to see the finish line!

Hope to see you on the 12th!

Looking Good.....

I am so excited. Last evening we got the peg board up and it put a nice finishing touch on the back wall! The room is beginning to look good and fall into place.

Here is the supply cabinet that is over the "tool table".

Thanks to Ron and Anna Meyer........we really got a lot done.

I'm going to date myself......but remember the show, "Chico and the Man"? Well, Freddie Prinze would have said, "Looking good!!!" (I've been watching "That 70's Show", and they referenced Freddie Prinze.....and boy did that bring back memories!)

Stay tuned for more updates and pictures.

Looking forward to seeing you at the Grand Re-Opening on March 12th.
