A Video of Barbara's Class

Hello Everyone!
Hope you are enjoying the beautiful Memorial Day Weekend.

Last week, Barbara Thomas taught a great class - Paper Quilting and here's a short video of it. Everyone had a blast, the cards came out gorgeous, and we even had brownies in honor of Barbara's Birthday!

Paper crafting, good friends, and chocolate! What more can you ask for?

I also want to thank Vicky Papaioannou. She has a wonderful paper crafting blog and her husband composes music for her videos. (I was able to download his music and add it to my video. Thank you so much for your generosity and talent!) Please visit Vicky's blog for more inspiration.

Hope you enjoy the video and thanks for stopping by,

Cards Using Parchment Craft Techniques

Hello Everyone!
Hope you're enjoying the weather! But, boy oh boy, where has the time gone? It's almost the end of May already.......
Well, I've been working on these two cards using parchment paper and what else...... butterflies! The first scan is pretty good....you can see the detail on the butterfly. The window was made with the new cutting dies from Europe and the pretty paper is from Hanko.
I'm sorry, this scan is a bit light. It was hard to get a good picture of this since it is on a pale, yellow card stock. Hopefully, you can get the idea and layout. Here, too I used the latest cutting die as well as the tiny butterfly punch and embossed flower punches, (all from Europe).

If you like this delicate look, you can try these techniques in the class on Thurs, May 27 or again on June 12.
If you don't have time for a full class, stop by on Sat, June 5th, and make a miniature version during Make and Take Day.

Hope this gives you some inspiration for your project.

Wedding Card

I really like the way this wedding card came out and you can make it in the "Gorgeous Wedding Cards" class. I cut white pearlized card stock with the Spellbinders Fleur de Lis pendant and borderabilities and used stamps from Outlines and A-muse. The finishing touch were the clear Swarovski crystals. The crystals truly sparkle in real life as does the pearlized card stock!
This card also makes a great anniversary card.
Hope you can join us for this great class!

Recipe Box and Cards

I think everyone knows that I just love those Memory Box penguins!!!
So, I decided to use the different penguins for a Recipe Box and cards. Here's a picture of the recipe box you can make in the class.
Each category is color coded and has a unique penguin. For example, we used the "Curler Penguin" for breakfast foods, the "Fishing Penguin" for the seafood category and the "Cowboy Penguin" for meats!

Then everyone brought in a recipe and we matted the recipe on card stock for the color of the category.

They came out so cute...........we even tried some of these recipes in class!
This class is being repeated this Saturday, May 15 and also next month.
Hope you can come!

Pictures of NYC Skyline

Hi Everyone,
This past weekend I was in NYC for a wedding and here are some pictures I took of the spectacular view from the Water Club.

Here you can see part of the Water Club and the skyline behind it.

Here you see Long Island City, Queens and part of the 59th Street Bridge. Those condos have the best view of Manhattan! Just imagine it at night!
And this is a closer view of the East River, the United Nations and the 59th Street Bridge. I realize that I miss good old NYC when I look at these pictures. Oh well, visiting is such a nice treat!

In addition to the spectacular views, the food was superb and the company great! A beautiful time was had by all.

Thanks for stopping by,
Anna

Happy Mother's Day!

I would like to wish all mothers, grandmothers, aunts and godmothers a very Happy Mother's Day! Here's a card in your honor!

I used the latest flower stamps from Outlines and colored them with Copic markers on white card stock. I also used some Copic blending solution on terry cloth and blotted it on the flowers. (The white and black card stock was cut with Nestabilities.) I then went out of my box and used antique linen distress ink and the blending tool to add the ink to the white card stock, flowers and leaves. I then added the Outlines saying and Swarovski crystals to complete the card.

Hope you had a wonderful day and thanks for looking!

Barbara's Paper Quilting Class

Here are 2 of the 4 cards you will make in Barbara's class on Saturday, May 22. Aren't they beautiful? They are made with the pretty papers from Japan by Hanko Designs, and they almost look and feel like fabric!
In this card, the diamond shapes are "puffed up" with batting and it really makes it look like fabric, even though it's paper.
Hope you can join Barbara for this fun and unique class!
