In Honor of Will & Kate's Wedding

Today I was one of the millions who got up early to see the Royal Wedding!  I can't believe that Will was getting married, when it doesn't seem that long ago that I was doing the same thing to see Diana and Charles.

Will and Kate made a beautiful couple.  Kate looked spectacular and her dress was just gorgeous.  Will looked so handsome.  And I have to say,  Harry looked AWESOME and so cute when he took a peek at Kate when she was walking down the aisle.

And so,  here is a "Fairy Tale" card for this very fairy tale couple.

I just thought this Impression Obsession stamp was perfect for today!  I colored it with watercolor pencils and a dove pen.  (Unfortunately, you can't see the sparkle from the stickle accents and the shimmer from the shimmer spritz.)  I also ran the white pearlized cardstock  through the Big Shot using a beautiful damask embossing folder.  For the inside saying, I used another Impression Obsession stamp that said, "And they lived happily ever after".

This is also the final card for the Wedding Card class, which will be held tomorrow.  I had so much fun creating these wedding cards.  And I thank you for all of your wonderful e-mails about the cards!

Have a wonderful evening,
Anna

Fields of Tulips

If you know me, you'll know that I LOVE flowers.  I can't grow them, but I love them.  And, don't forget, deer around here eat just about everything.

Basically, my idea of gardening is to hang some baskets once the frost is over, which is usually sometime in June here.   Though I have to say, my Rhododendrons do bloom beautifully, so I will try to remember to take some pictures of them at the end of May  (they ALWAYS bloom for Maria's birthday).

I follow several blogs and one of them is Lai-Yoke's blog:  WalchowDesign.  She lives in the Netherlands and if you click here, you'll see her beautiful post of FIELDS OF FLOWERS.  Check it out............it is just gorgeous.  I only wish that some day I can see this in person!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Elizabeth Crafts Glitter is Here!

I am so happy to announce that the Elizabeth Craft Designs glitter has arrived!!! And just in time for Demo Day this Saturday, April 23.  Come and see how to make those fabulous cards with this micro fine glitter. You are going to love the way this glitter looks; it's so very sparkly, there are so many wonderful colors and it really sticks.  This glitter does not fall or flake off like the others.  When you run your fingers over it, it doesn't even feel like glitter;  it is soooo smooth.  And hence the name of the technique -  burnished velvet technique.

I know you must be thinking......... OK, glitter is glitter.  What can you show me?

I know, I and all the store owners were thinking the same thing when we were at the Trade Show in Boston.  And then Elizabeth showed us the samples and we took her classes.  AND all of us were hooked!!! It was like nothing else!  We just LOVED everything.  And of course wanted all of the beautiful colors so that we could start making these outstanding and stunning cards!

At the Demo, I will show you how to use many of the supplies you already have to make these cards.  You'll learn how to use your punches, peel offs, Copics, cutting dies and more. Isn't it just great to get more use out of your tools and supplies?

This is a new sample I made today.  Just another way to use peel offs!

And here is the display of all of the wonderful colors that are in stock!

Stop by on Saturday and see for yourself.......you will not be disappointed!

"Mr. & Mrs." Wedding Card

Just wanted to post one of the cards that you will be able to make in the Wedding class on Saturday, April 30.  For this card, you will learn how to make those cute little paper rosebuds that were cut from the "Creatables Rosebud" cutting die.  Don't be left out..........these paper flowers are the latest craze!

I really like the way this card turned out........very clean and simple, but elegant at the same time.

Hope you'll join us.  You will make several cards, emphasizing a different technique on each card, while listening to favorite wedding songs and even enjoy some dessert!  Call to reserve your seat today!

New Dies and Embossing Folders

I'm so happy to let you know that more European dies came in!

First, the beautiful birdcage is back in stock and so are the branches.  See this post for the sample made with these popular dies.

The die below is the latest set that came in.  It cuts a scalloped circle into a long spiral so you can then make it into a rosebud. You just keep rolling it to form the flower.  (See the inserted sample below).  You can make two different size rosebuds as well as cut two different leaves with this set.

This is another nice set of leaves and flower set.
Other new dies:  buttons, sewing machine set, and very decorative tags.

Here is a picture of one of the new embossing folders.

Some of the other new embossing folders are:  small and large dots, tools for you man, retro look of squares and dots and a music background.

Hope this sparks some inspiration for a new spring or Easter project.  And don't forget, Mother's Day is just around the corner.

If you're having difficulty with a project, or just need some time to work on something, come this Saturday for "stamp-Arty".  We are here to help and inspire you.

Have a wonderful evening,
Anna

New from Stacy Stamps

Stacy released two new stamp sets for the spring:  Snapdragon flowers and a beautiful bold border set.

Here are samples that Stacy made with the Snapdragons.  So pretty and delicate......and you can make them any color you want!

This is a sample using one of the borders.  The swirls are so bold, that Stacy only gold embossed them and layered it on black, gold and red cardstock.  Add some pearls and you're done.

What is really nice about these borders is that they are 6 inches long.........you will only need to stamp the border once and it will fit the card perfectly!

These stamps are now available at the Creative Corner.  Let me know if I can be of assistance to you.

Have a wonderful weekend,
Anna

Tomorrow's Spring Make & Take

Here's the scan of tomorrow's Make & Take. You will be using one of the latest stamps from Outlines and color it with pencils and Gamsol.  You'll get dimension by popping the butterfly and the centers of the flowers as well as adding stickles and ribbon!

Hopefully this little card will remind us that spring is really here!  (Oh snow, snow, go away.......come back another year!)
