Transfer Technique of all the Parts of a Peel Off Design

Many of you have asked that I do a Demo showing you how to get all of the pieces of a peel off design/image transferred to a card.

I had to do the demo in two parts......and here's the first segment.

Please see the next post below for the continuation of the demo.

Transfer Technique Demo, Part Two

Here is the completion of the demo.

Peel offs are a fun and easy way to add greetings to your cards as well as borders and complete images. Hope you'll try it and see for yourself how easy it really is!

Watercoloring with Twinkling H2O's

I just love this watercolor technique I learned when Dave, from Memory Box was at the store in July. It's so easy, yet it gives you impressive results. Here's a quick demo to show you how to do it.....

And I'm happy to say that the really, nice and thick watercolor paper (140 lb) is in stock as well as the Twinkling H2O's.

Thanks so much for stopping by and
Happy Stamping,
Anna

The New Fall & Christmas Release from Memory Box is Here!

I am so excited!!! The new Fall & Christmas release from Memory Box has arrived!!! It was just a blast opening the two huge boxes and getting my hands on the new stamps. Dave really out did himself this time. The stamps are just great, the paper is beautiful and the card samples are stunning!

I called several people to share in the excitement, but no one was home. But happily, Maryanne got her voice message and came down to see for herself. And she was thrilled to be the first to see all of the goodies! We were just "ahh-ing" over all of the samples! Maryanne can't wait to start her Christmas cards, but first she said she wants ALL of the stamps. Then she was worried that she may be getting "Soni-itis". O-oh.....we all know where that's going!

I took some pictures; first of just everything out of the boxes and then of the completed display. When I came home, I had to make a quick slide show for you. What a fun and exciting day!

Don't forget that we are one of the first stores that has this new release.
Hope you'll be able to stop by and see for yourself! It's just so much better in person!

Video of Sherry's Classes!

A Muse Instructor, Sherry Czarnecki, was here yesterday and we just had a ball! She taught 2 classes; Special Copic Techniques and Cards with Different Folds. We used the Amuse "Sea of Love" stamps in both classes; which is just perfect for the summer.

We stamped, colored, laughed, and ate! What more could we have asked for?
Hmm,...........maybe the Copic air compressor as a door prize? Or some adult beverages?
No, it was just fine. We were just high on good old rubber, ink and friends!

Thanks Sherry for a wonderful day! And thank you to all who came and help make the day a huge success!

Sit back and enjoy the video. Hope you'll be able to join us at our next class.
Thanks for stopping by,
Anna

A Video of Barbara's Class

Hello Everyone!
Hope you are enjoying the beautiful Memorial Day Weekend.

Last week, Barbara Thomas taught a great class - Paper Quilting and here's a short video of it. Everyone had a blast, the cards came out gorgeous, and we even had brownies in honor of Barbara's Birthday!

Paper crafting, good friends, and chocolate! What more can you ask for?

I also want to thank Vicky Papaioannou. She has a wonderful paper crafting blog and her husband composes music for her videos. (I was able to download his music and add it to my video. Thank you so much for your generosity and talent!) Please visit Vicky's blog for more inspiration.

Hope you enjoy the video and thanks for stopping by,
Anna

A New Video of Stacy!

Last month I saw Stacy at the Collins Show in Boston. You read about the trip and saw some of the cards we made. (See the post from 4/5)
Now, you can watch Stacy show you how to use her new poppy stamp! You can also go to Stacy's blog and see Stacy demo her bleach technique!
Didn't Stacy do a wonderful job.....I can't get over the fact that she did each video in ONE take!
Don't forget, Stacy will be coming to Wurtsboro and teaching two classes on Sat, Sept 11. Call the store now to reserve your seat. We always have a great time when Stacy visits.

Easy Bow Maker Demo

Hello Everyone,
Yesterday, with the help of Soni, we video taped my first demo! It was fun and it only took 3 tries! It reminds me the fun you see actors have while filming a movie. All of a sudden you just go blank, and start laughing.

It was a great experience and I hope you will find it informative. I know many of you have this little template, and either, forget or don't know how to use it.

So, sit back, enjoy, and hopefully, you'll dust off that plastic bow maker template and start making lots of bows! If you need more instruction on how to use it, just stop by the shop and I'll gladly show you in person!

Thanks for watching and check back often, as I will start to add little, helpful demos here!

The Comfort that Comes from Creation

Last week I was in NYC at the American Folk Art Museum. Thought you'd love to see this beautiful quilt, The National Tribute Quilt, which is on continuous display at the museum. It represents the response of the Steel Quilters of United States Steel Corporation to the events of September 11, 2001. This small quilt club conceived the monumental undertaking, ultimately receiving quilt blocks from all fifty states as well as Canada, Spain, Australia, and Denmark. The quilt measures eight feet high by 30 feet wide, and is constructed of 3,466 blocks in six panels. The four central panels form a montage of the twin towers of the World Trade Center against the New York City skyline. These are flanked by panels dedicated to the lives lost on the four flights and at the Pentagon. Each three-inch-square block bears the name of one person who perished in the disaster. This project started on Sept. 13, 2001 and was completed on July 4, 2002.
It truly is a beautiful piece of work that surprisingly took less than a year to complete. You can tell that the ladies put their heart and soul into this quilt as well as probably worked through their pain of the events that occurred.
As I took in this impressive and moving work, I thought about the times that I have turned to my craft to help me through challenging times. As crafters, or artisans, we sometimes take for granted the comfort that comes from creation. So often we make a card, a quilt, or a painting, to make others feel good - rarely do the recipients realize how good it makes us feel. With the season of gratitude and good cheer upon us, I'm asking you to tell me what you've made over the years that made you feel better. What have you gifted that gave you something as well?
Wishing you a peaceful day...

Stacy Rich's Visit

We had a blast when Stacy visited us yesterday! She had so many SIMPLE, yet elegant ideas to make our cards extra special. And Stacy's new sleigh stamp is just gorgeous. Here's a video of Stacy showing you how to mask and then create a pretty winter scene with her sleigh, evergreen trees and moon stamps. The black and white card, with just a bit of red is truly striking. I'm sure you'll get some great tips, so sit back and enjoy! Thanks so much, Stacy! As usual, you did a GREAT job. We love you and look forward to your next visit!
