A Beautiful Birdcage

I just LOVE this new birdcage and it's a new die that has arrived at the Creative Corner! At least we can say that spring has arrived at the Creative Corner!

This birdcage is so delicate and the door actually opens. I also used the new branch die as well as the floral punch/embosser set. It was all put together with Memory Box paper, a Hero Arts butterfly stamp colored with Copics, white flat pearls and stickles for the sparkle.

This is the birdcage die
and this is the branches (#2) die.
This is the floral punch and the embosser set.

A new bird die is also available. I can't wait to play with that, but I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Have a wonderful day,
Anna

Bicycles!

Bicycles seem to be cropping up everywhere now. I have seem lots of bicycle stamps from various companies. And so, they began to grow on me.

Two of the cards I made is for Valentine's Day. But change the saying and they make great masculine cards! And we always need help with those!

The tandem bike with the heart balloons was stamped on vellum and the clouds were stamped on the white cardstock underneath. I was trying to get the look of the bike floating in the air. I also added a crystal to each of the wheels, just for some extra sparkle.

I had to add butterflies to the other card......I just love that Hero Arts butterfly set. It goes with so many things. When I'm looking to add that something to a card, it seems I've been going to those butterflies a lot more often now. I think I'm wishing and so looking forward to spring.

The tricycle reminds me of the one I had, though mine had quite large maroon fender over the front wheel. Those were the days! I used some distress ink to make it look a bit old and added some really fine red thread to the handles. Boy, did it bring back memories.

Hope you'll start thinking of some ways to use these bicycle stamps. It really is soooo much fun!

Soni made these fabulous Valentine cards!

Aren't these cards gorgeous!!! Soni Larson, a member of the Creative Corner's design team, made these wonderful Valentine cards!!! She used the Nellie Snellen Heart dies as well as some Creatables swirls and ribbon border dies. And how clever was Soni when she used the pretty, frilly frame die and cut it to make the corners! Soni also used Memory Box printed paper.

I know that one of these cards will be going to Al (Soni's hubby) and won't he be lucky come the 14th!

And don't forget, if you make too many cards for Valentine's Day, you can always use them for Anniversaries, Weddings, Mother's Day or even a Birthday for that someone special in your life.

Hope this gives you some inspiration for your cards.
Have a wonderful day and
Happy Stamping,
Anna

Hero Arts Large Flower Background Stamp

I have seen so many pretty cards made with the "Large Flower Background", that I couldn't wait to play with the stamp. I had a lot of fun making these cards. I wanted to use the stamp, but make at least 3 different cards for you.

The pink and the purple ones can be used for Valentine's Day, and they were very simple. The purple one really shimmers, since I used Brilliance ink. As you can see, you don't have to use pinks and reds for Valentine's Day..........purple looks great too! (The saying stamps on these 2 cards are from Savvy.)

I have to say, the little owls on the third card look so cute with their wiggly eyes!

And this is the stamp that I used for all of the backgrounds. It really says spring, doesn't it?

New Cards

Yesterday, the Hero Arts order came in! Yeah!!! So, I finally got it all sorted and today I was able to sit down and play!

I started with the saying stamp set, "Truly Appreciated". I was so waiting for this set to come in because the sayings are a nice size and a bit long. I knew I needed something longer to fit in those great Tim Holtz labels dies. And I really liked the way they worked inside them.

I used the new Hero Arts envelope pattern background stamp and two Impression Obsession background stamps for the base of these cards. I then used the same ink color to edge the die cuts after I embossed them with the Cuttlebug Swiss dots embossing folder. And then I edged the die cut with a gold or silver Krylon pen. I really liked how that pen made the label pop.

To finish the cards off, I added a butterfly or dragon fly that was colored with Copics and accented with stickles.

These two cards were also made with an Impression Obsession background stamp, stamped several times on different colored card stock. It was then pieced together to make a bold background. Again, I used a saying stamped on a die cut (used Nellie Snellen multi-frame dies)
and added a few pearls and string as accent.

Here's the stamp set. Not only are the sayings so nice, but it comes with a few accent flowers and leaves. These sayings help you make quick cards. You only need a bit of decoration around the sayings and you're done. I think this will become one of my favorite saying sets.

Stay tuned for tomorrow, as I'm hoping to get one or two more cards done for you.

What a beautiful, sunny day........

Today, I woke up to a beautiful, sunny morning. It was so nice to see a bright blue sky after all of the snow and ice we've been having. Good thing Groundhog day was yesterday, because today, he would have seen his shadow.

Luckily, yesterday, little Phil didn't see his shadow and so the legend goes that we should have an early spring. Hey, I'm ALL for that.......and maybe it's true. Yesterday, Maria had temps in the 50's down in Virginia
!!!

Have a wonderful day and
Happy Stamping!

More than just a card.......

I have stumbled upon Elly's blog and have been inspired by her work. Elly is from the Netherlands and she has a wonderful blog! Check it out and see the unique and beautiful cards she makes!

Elly created a really pretty "Book Card" and this is my version of it.

I used Impression Obsession stamps and the new Nellie Snellen cutting dies. I just love that circle "doily"; it is so delicate and goes with the border die.

The swirls are from the Creatables die set.

I used Memory Box printed paper as well as distress inks to decorate the front and inside.

Here is the inside of the "book". The walls are made by accordion folding the card stock and decorating the edge with the border die.

This little book/box is so versatile.........you can fill it with chocolates (as I did below) for your Valentine OR put a picture inside and it will look like a frame, ready for someone's birthday or Mother's Day! I am sure that you will come up with lots of uses for it!

These are the new dies that I used to create the sample.

This will be a class in the near future!!! I am sure that many of you will love it!

Also, keep a look out on the calendar, as the flower cards will also be a class!

Happy Stamping!
Anna

Let's think spring.......

With ALL this snow.....I think everyone is dreaming about spring.......I don't think it could come soon enough for us!

I guess stamping pretty flowers will have to be the next best thing for now! At least we're lucky enough to have pretty flower stamps!

I have to say, that I really like the color combination in this first card......I never would have thought of yellow and pink, but I was inspired by a sample on the A Muse web site and came up with this.

I colored the large flower with Copics. I also cut the flower apart and pieced it together for the card and adhered it with dimensional tape.

Those flower stamps are so versatile and they are in stock. If you'd like a set, just call and I can mail them to you!

Here, I used the same large, outline flower and stamped it with white Staz-on ink onto the acetate card. It made a great background and an unusual "clear" card.

Enjoy your day and stay safe and warm,
Anna

Oh my gosh......it's February already!

Hello Everyone,

It's February already....oh where, oh where does the time go?

Well, I do know where it went last week......I was laid up with my bad back :( It wasn't fun, but I'm glad to say that I'm doing quite well now! Unfortunately, I couldn't work on cleaning up or setting up for several days. Oh well......

But I do have some new pictures to show you of the progress so far..........

This 1st picture is of my temporary work station. I'm working hard to come up with some new samples with the latest product that has come in. I'll post those pictures in the next post.

Here are the stamps and Scor-it as well as the printer. The office is coming along very nicely!

The drawers now have office supplies and packing material; all ready and waiting for orders to be sent out.

And here you can see the register, phone and credit card machine all set up and functioning.
If you look past the counter, you can see a glimpse of the sitting/relaxation area we'll have!

And here's the large room.........I know there's still a lot to get done, but look......the back wall is completely clean!!! And that was with the help of Al, Soni's husband!!! He was just wonderful this past Sunday.......he got a lot of big things out or moved so now I can clean along the walls and then get ready to paint!!! Yeah!!! Thank you sooooo much Al!!!

Now, stay tuned for the samples!
